Automatic Sprinkler Inspection, Testing & Maintenance

Alarm devices

All waterflow alarms including water motor alarms, pressure switches, and vane type waterflow alarms must be tested at least quarterly. On wet-pipe sprinkler systems the required test method is to open the test connection and cause water to actuate the alarm as it would during a fire.

On dry-pipe, deluge, and preaction systems the waterflow alarm is tested by using the alarm test bypass valve.
