Zone 0

The only protection method permitted in Zone 0 areas is intrinsic safety. Article 505 refers to Article 504 for wiring methods for intrinsically safe circuits. Article 504 permits any of the wiring methods that are suitable for use in unclassified areas suitable for use in unclassified areas:
