Incapable of Causing Ignition

This diagram illustrates a common method used to limit the voltage and the current and thus the total energy in a circuit. The resistors and fuse limit the current and the zener diodes limit the voltage. The redundant resistor and zener diode act as a backup in case one of the other devices fails.
