Encapsulation Encapsulation:
The marking for this protection technique is "m". is defined as a type of protection where electrical parts that could ignite an explosive atmosphere by either sparking or heating are enclosed in a compound in such a way that this explosive atmosphere cannot be ignited.

This method is unique to zone-classified areas. The concept behind this method is similar to powder filling insofar as both methods use a compound or material to fill the spaces where gas and vapor could otherwise accumulate.
