Supervisory Initiating Devices

Sprinkler Supervision

Dry-Pipe Systems

Pressure switches supervise the air pressure in this dry-pipe sprinkler system. If the air pressure increases more than 10 psi above normal, or if it drops more than 10 psi below normal, the pressure switch initiates a supervisory signal that is transmitted to the building fire alarm control panel. The box at the right is a pressure supervisory transmitter. It contains pressure switches to monitor the air pressure, and a transmitter to initiate a supervisory signal if the air pressure varies more than 10 psi from the normal pressure.
