Guard Patrols

Some facilities have guards that make rounds through the buildings. In some cases the guards have a set route that must be followed to assure that all areas of the facility are visited. There are various methods of reporting these rounds to assure the guards follow the prescribed route. One method uses the fire alarm system to supervise the rounds made by the guards. In some systems the rounds are continously reported continously reporting
Continuous recording means that each station visited by the guard sends a signal to the fire alarm system as confirmation that the station was visited.. Other systems use suppressed reporting suppressed reporting
Most suppressed reporting of guard patrol tours only transmits a signal when the first and last stations are visited. Often, the guard must then visit each of the intermediate stations in a specific sequence. The last station visited sends a confirmation signal that the round is complete. In other suppressed reporting systems, if the guard fails to complete the round within a prescribed time limit, a supervisory signal is initiated. where a supervisory signal is initiated only when the guard fails to hit the stations in the proper order and in the prescribed time.
