Conductor Selection & Application

The Table Method

Adjustment Factors

Section 310.15(B)(3) addresses adjustment factors that apply when there are more than three current carrying conductors in a given installation or a given cable or raceway. The adjustment factors are found in Table 310.15(B)(3)(a).

This section and the table headings include an extensive series of instructions on when these adjustment factors do and do not apply, as well as special cases where there may be only three conductors in an individual cable but where many cables are grouped together, both adding to heat and interfering with dissipation of heat.
