Authorities and Requirements

Highly Protected Risk (HPR)

A "highly protected risk" is one that conforms to some basic concepts of fire protection. In general, these include:
Proper construction for the occupancy in the building Automatic sprinkler protection where deemed necessary and an adequate water supply for sprinkler systems Adequate surveillance of the property, which may include watchman services, security systems, and fire alarm systems, as needed for the use and occupancy of the building No undue exposures to the property from adjacent properties, owned usually by others Proper emergency response
The application of these requirements may vary from insurance company to insurance company, but these represent the general concepts for a highly protected risk protection scheme.
