Identifying Materials & Equipment

Helpful Hint

A distinction is made between flammable and combustible liquids, and combustible liquids do not usually create classified areas. However, the term "Combustible Material" is a generic term that is used to describe a gas, vapor, or dust that may burn, flame, or explode and includes flammable gases, vapors from either flammable or combustible liquids, combustible dusts, or an ignitible hybrid mixture of dusts and gas or vapor in air.
