Test Signals

It is essential that all items in the central station operate properly, including all signal transmissions from the protected premises. The equipment at a protected premises sends out test signals to the central station.

The central station must record these test signalsIf a test signal is not transmitted, the central station has to investigate this immediately. with the date, time, and type of signal received. The test signal that comes from the protected premises has to be acknowledged when required by the AHJ or client. If the test signal isn't transmitted, a maintenance person has to be dispatched to arrive at the protected premises within two hours.

The central station has to issue each client and their own personnel a specific identification code, so that when the system is accessedThe intent is to make sure unauthorized people can't get into the system., the central station equipment can identify who and when.
