Service Scope

Providing Service Elements

There are four distinct ways for a central station company to provide listed central station service.
A listed central station may provide all of the six service elements to the customer. A listed central station may provide the three elements at the supervising station and subcontract any or all of the other three services provided at the protected premises. A listed fire alarm service company operating in the area of the customer may provide the installation, testing, and maintenance at the protected premises and subcontract the supervising station requirements to a listed central station. The runner service requirement can be fulfilled by either the local fire alarm service company or the listed central station. A central station may provide all of the elements at the protected premises and subcontract the three elements at the supervising station to another listed central station. The runner service requirement can be fulfilled by either the local fire alarm service company or the listed central station. Regardless of which way the central station service is arranged, the customer sees only one contract, which is issued by the central station service company.
