The building that houses the central station has to conform to the requirements listed in the latest edition of UL/ANSI 827This document details the protection features that help maintain the integrity of the physical building housing the central station. Subsidiary stations, or the part of a building used as a subsidiary stationAll security aspects of the subsidiary station have to be monitored by the central station, because the subsidiary station has a direct impact on the operation of the central station. Items that have to be monitored include intrusion, power, and environmental conditions. for the fire alarm system, also must comply with UL/ANSI 827. Typically, a subsidiary station is unoccupied, so the requirements in UL/ANSI 827 will help maintain the integrity of the subsidiary station. An exposure to the subsidiary station, which is usually remote from the central station, can cause substantial impairments to the service provided.
