Central Station Fire Alarm Systems
Subsidiary Stations
Inspections
The central station company has to inspect the subsidiary station at least monthly. This can not be a quick "drive-by" inspection. The inspection has to verify the operating conditions of power supplies, telephones, communications channels, and equipment required to operate the subsidiary station.
If there is an equipment or communications channel failure in the subsidiary station, a signal has to be transmitted to the central station immediatelyObviously, the central station is required to monitor the integrity of this communications path., and backup equipment has to be put in service within 90 seconds. The equipment in need of repair must be restored to operating condition within five days.
