Cable Substitutions

NEC Section 760-61 permits various types of listed communications cables to be substituted for listed power-limited fire alarm circuit cables. For example, a Type CMP A Type CMP cable is a communications cable listed for use in plenums, as defined by the NEC. The requirements for this cable and its use are detailed in NEC Section 800-179, Communications Wires and Cables. cable is considered suitable for use in place of a Type FPLP cable.
