NEC Article 760

Article 760 of the NEC covers the installation of wiring and equipment for fire alarm systems A fire alarm circuit is the portion of the wiring system between the load side of the overcurrent device or the power-limited power supply or the non-power-limited power supply and the connected equipment of all circuits powered by and controlled by the fire alarm system. including all circuits controlled and powered by the fire alarm system. Individual fire alarm circuits may require, or permit, different types of wiring and wiring methods. In addition to the NEC requirements, always follow the installation instructions provided by the fire alarm system manufacturer. Keep in mind that the only purpose of the NEC is electrical safety.
